Located on the St. Paul Campus of the University of Minnesota, the Cargill Building for Microbial and Plant Genomics is dedicated to the research of microbial and plant genomics. This facility brings together genomics researchers from agriculture, biology, ecology, medicine, veterinary medicine and other fields.
The facility includes laboratories, microbial and plant growing areas, a robotic center for screening new biological compounds, teaching spaces and offices. Incorporating highly specialized research support, the traditional wet labs are complemented by technologically advanced bioinformatics labs complete with fermentation, plant growth chambers, fume hoods and biological safety cabinets.
